Edward Chan

Edward Chan is a self taught artist born in 1947 in China. At the age of 11, he started painting. He mainly works in oils due to their great versatility and excellent results with blending and glazing but has tried many mediums along his path of discovery. Chanís work is based on a strong belief that feeling and mood are accompanied in each piece along with heart and emotion. Every painting contains a unique story or feeling that Chan would like to share with others. When painting landscapes, Edward creates his own world- nature has no boundaries, limits or restrictions.
He began exhibiting in Hong Kong, France, China, Taiwan, Indonesia and The US in 1980. In 1992, he was selected by the Philippe Charriol Foundation in their Modern Arts Competition. The same year his work was selected for The Hong Kong Museum of Art- Biennial Exhibition. He has shown in several galleries around the globe and his work is highly sought after by collectors.
